The Musical Route

Start

What’s playing in Polish cars?

A study commissioned by Continental leaves little doubt: cars are rarely silent.
65% of Poles listen to music while driving, 54% turn on FM radio, and only 8% choose silence. Pop (64%) and rock (43%) dominate, but playlists also make room for rap (30%), film music (23%) and classical (21%). Every fifth driver sings along without inhibition – even if the only audience is the driver in the next lane.

Polish artists and international classics rule the road. Contemporary Polish pop, wedding-floor anthems, stadium rock and well-known guilty pleasures all meet on one playlist. Road-trip music connects, loosens us up, sparks emotions and helps build memories – exactly the kind we look for when we travel.

What do Continental employees listen to?

We also asked Continental Opony Polska employees about their favourite driving tracks. For many of them, “life on the road” is part of everyday work – so their voices had to be included.

Their choices reveal a clear musical profile: 35% reach for pop, 30% for rock and alternative, followed by electronic and jazz (17%) and hip-hop (11%). Energy, rhythm and timeless sounds lead the way.

And what does Adam Małysz listen to?

Adam Małysz – Continental partner – also added his picks. He leans toward film music and monumental sounds. His choices include “Now We Are Free” from Gladiator by Hans Zimmer & Lisa Gerrard and “Wish I Had an Angel” by Nightwish. This isn’t background music. It’s a companion for demanding routes – helping maintain rhythm and focus, kilometer after kilometer.

One road, many tastes

From all these choices – the nationwide Polish sample, Continental employees and Adam Małysz – a jubilee in-car playlist was born. A journey through decades, genres and moods. A playlist that works just as well for a family winter trip as for a solo drive, when only the road ahead matters.

Find the playlist on Spotify – ready to press play and go.

The soundtrack of winter journeys

Winter holidays are in full swing in Poland – a season of snowy getaways and long drives. Moments like these turn the car into a private concert hall and a karaoke booth on wheels. Which makes it the perfect time to take a closer look at the songs that most often accompany us on the road. So we did just that. The result? Not only fascinating insights into Polish drivers’ habits, but also an intergenerational playlist built from their answers – ready to become your ultimate road companion.

So… shall we hit the musical route?

From guilty pleasures to rock legends

From specifics: the most frequently mentioned artist is Sanah, closely followed by Chris Rea and Akcent, with Sting and The Beatles right behind. Add SkolimSylwia Grzeszczak and the latest hit from Łobuzy & Zenek Martyniuk. At the same time, rock classics remain a safe foundation – Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Linkin Park and Depeche Mode.

The undisputed winner: “Enjoy the Silence” by Depeche Mode, mentioned multiple times – an unofficial anthem of Continental Poland? Among the most frequently named artists is also Dawid Podsiadło. Rock resonates strongly, from classics to modern alternative:

  • AC/DC,
  • U2,
  • Pearl Jam,
  • Dire Straits,
  • Fleetwood Mac,
  • Scorpions,
  • The Strokes.

Alongside them, Polish alternative scene favourites such as:

  • Daria Zawiałow,
  • Kaśka Sochacka
  • Myslovitz,
  • Łona.

Different tastes, one shared approach to the road: music should accompany, energise and never get boring – even after the hundredth kilometer.

A route that plays

Every road in the guide comes with a real route. This time, we propose a journey through places whose names sound like instruments and rhythms themselves: from Trąbki to Bębnowo – around 170 kilometers practically begging for good music.

It’s the perfect moment to see how our playlist performs on the road. Because the best journeys are the ones where the road has its own rhythm.
